Welcome to Woodmont
Thank you for your interest in membership. We are always pleased to add new members. Your yearly membership dues are used to pay taxes, fund maintenance projects and provide various social events for the community of Woodmont. It is one of the primary goals of the community to maintain the natural setting we all enjoy.
The Board of Directors is composed of ten members. The Board meets monthly to monitor the Club budget, maintenance projects and various social events. The Board has various committees to work on Club projects. We are always looking for additional help to serve on a committee. General membership meetings are held at least twice each year, in March and May. Special meetings may be called from time to time as the need arises. Thank you, we appreciate your interest. Woodmont Country Club General Information
Woodmont was originally used as a summer retreat and was composed of cabins and camping spots. The Club was incorporated in 1915 and the beach property was deeded to the community at that time. The stated purpose of the Club was "to promote friendly relations and develop open air sports and aquatic sports and aquatic exercises among its members." It was also established to adopt and formulate sanitary regulations for the area, which resulted in two water districts being formed. The watershed areas were above 10th Ave. and about 270th (still visible today) and the other was near Marine View Drive and 10th. The terms "Upper Woodmont" and "Lower Woodmont" are still used today and stem from those water district designations. Today, "lower" refers to the area south of Woodmont Beach Road to 272nd, while "upper" is the area between Woodmont Beach Road and 264th. There are about 150 households in the membership area.
Club membership entitles you to use the Club facilities, which include the plaza, tennis court and playground, and a half-mile of salt water beach and trails. We hope you will join us in several social events each year including the Father's Day breakfast, Corky's Kid's Parade, several summer potlucks, and a Christmas Event. Additionally we have annual clean-up days in the spring and fall, and a community yard sale in the summer.
We have two official Club meetings during the year, one in March and the other in May. Please plan on attending. The dates and locations will be noted in the newsletters and on our website. We discuss Club business and budgets, elect officers, and talk about any general community issues important to all of us. This is an excellent opportunity to meet your neighbors and stay on top of issues.
Please remember that this is YOUR Club and community. The more you are involved, the more you will enjoy both. We rely completely on volunteer help to make this work - please consider volunteering for our areas of need.
